Hongliang Zhang is a Research Scientist at the Engineering Physics Department in the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He obtained his Ph.D. in physics from Fudan University in 2018 specialized in ion beam analysis techniques and irradiation effects on MAX Phase materials. He joined Prof. Izabela Szlufarska’s group at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Aug. 2018 as a post-doctoral Research Associate while his research focused on coupled effects of radiation and chemical environment on interfaces in SiC, SiC composites and other kinds of ceramics. In the meantime, he also studied the mechanical properties of alloys using in-situ micromechanical test techniques, TEM, etc. He joined the Engineering Physics Department as an Assistant Scientist in 2020.
